Codex Plugin
The Codex plugin lives in:
plugins/x4-codex/
It teaches Codex to use X4 commands instead of hand-rolling multi-repo workspaces, branches, sandboxes, validation, PR comments, or cleanup.
Plugin Manifest
The manifest is:
plugins/x4-codex/.codex-plugin/plugin.json
Capabilities:
- interactive use;
- write operations;
- multi-repo development workflows;
- workspace validation and PR evidence.
Skills
| Skill | Use when |
|---|---|
x4-workspace | Bootstrapping, inspecting, committing, testing, or cleaning a workspace. |
x4-sandbox | Starting, inspecting, publishing, or cleaning sandbox/preview state. |
x4-pr-workflow | Turning workspace changes into commits, PRs, validation, checks, and comments. |
x4-issue-workflow | Creating linked GitHub issues and posting evidence. |
x4-cleanup | Removing old X4 workspaces, sandboxes, previews, jobs, branches, and artifacts safely. |
Agent Rule
Agents should treat the X4 CLI as the source of truth:
x4 status
x4 test --continue-on-error
x4 workflow submit-pr --title "Task title" --execute --push
They should not invent custom worktree, remote execution, preview, or evidence flows unless debugging the X4 implementation itself.
